This project contains a few of my favorite things: food, talented chefs, and did I mention food?
I was excited to get the call asking if I could shoot portraits for the Idaho Potato Commission for their 2016 calendar. For many years the Idaho Potato Commission has produced beautiful calendars that feature notable chefs from around the country and a recipe from each chef highlighting the use of Idaho potatoes. Though I have worked behind the scenes for many years as an art director on food shoots with chefs, this was my first time working with a chefs being behind the camera as a photographer.

I’ve seldom met a taco I didn’t like. I really love tacos. Among the items I ordered were the fish taco with cabbage, mango pico de gallo and cheese on a homemade corn tortilla. It was so fresh and delicious. The horchata aqua fresca I ordered was a great compliment. It was the perfect lunch.
Though street tacos are by no means a new culinary trend, you should absolutely check out Veracruz if you live in Austin or the next time you are visiting. The service, quality of food and taste were all fantastic. I ate at their original location downtown on East Cesar Chavez but they have several convenient locations around town.
